Clothing can be your enemy or your friend, no matter what your body size, so here are pointers that will help you look slimmer. Nobody is perfect, and we all have parts of our bodies we are not happy with, and the great thing is clothing can be used to hide these and accentuate the good parts.

One mistake that many people make when trying to hide figure flaws is to wear baggy or loose-fitting clothing. Many times clothing such as oversized sweatshirts or t-shirts, or baggy pants with drawstring waists can actually make you look even heavier. On the other hand, you should also avoid clothing that fits too snug, as this will also accentuate your figure flaws.

The best way to make yourself look slim is to choose outfits that emphasize the good parts of your body and hide the bad parts. For example, a pencil skirt that is the right size almost always looks good on any size body. The same goes for a nicely fitted pair of jeans, they are another sure thing.

Choosing the right color can also be helpful. As a general rule, darker colors have a tendency to slenderize, while light shades or bold patterns can accentuate figure flaws. However, smaller patterns, especially if they have a dark background, can be a good choice.

If you need a little extra help, invest in some good shapewear. These undergarments can add just the right amount of support you need to always look great, and come in a wide variety of feminine colors and styles. A really good bra is also essential if you want to look great in your clothing.

There are plenty of other resources out there that can help you achieve the look you want. In addition, sometimes, it's all a matter of how you carry yourself within the clothes that you are wearing.

You need to carry yourself with confidence, don't slouch around as this makes you look bigger than you actually are, whereas standing up straight distributes the weight. This is critical to looking good, as no matter what you wear, if you slump then you will look bigger.

Be wary of clothing fads. It may seem like a good idea to buy the latest item, but you have to be sure that it suits your body type first.
